The Birthday Week(end)
November 4, 2008
First off, thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday, and hung out with me this past week/weekend. You are all awesome =)
Anyway, if I could use three words to describe the week..
MAD.
FOOD.
BLOWAAAAAGE.
Yep. Pretty much for FIVE days in a row, my friends and I have gone out to a ton of different restaurants and just destroyed ourselves with food. Needless to say, I’ll be dieting quite a lot now… after Vegas this week LOL.
So then, we begin with one of my old favorites: Shin Sen Gumi (Tuesday)
First order: Fried sweet potatoes w/ Butter. RIDICULOUSLY good.
CHICKEN CARTILAGE.
Chicken thigh meat.
Meatballs. One of my favorites.
Chicken Skin. Another one of my all time favorites!
Bacon Wrapped Tomatoes. Careful when eating… they explode in your mouth!
Grilled Onigiri. The meal topper.
GYUTAN aka Beef Tongue! Still my top favorite!
Asparagus Bacon.
That was the start of my birthday week. Next stop: THE PANTRY. (Wednesday)
But before doing so, we had to stop by Cafe Mak for some drinks and a snack.
Sweet Potato Cake. DEFINITELY recommend this to anyone. Not too sweet at all.
Actually, don’t seem to have any pictures of the Pantry, but I do have this one where Justin and I rode over, while Btune and Francis drove.
Next stop: Sakana. (Thursday)
Went with parents for lunch on my birthday. Dad knows the chef personally, so we get a little more priority service hahah.
Only took one other picture:
Salmon Skin Hand Roll.
Next stop: Machi. (Thursday)
Parents wanted to do a little something for dinner with their friends for my birthday, so we went to Machi, they cut cake, ate some food, then I had to roll out to Green Field Churrascaria, since the Aspec dudes were taking me out to dinner.
Taiwanese thing. Hard boiled eggs.
Pork’s Feet noodle. Super good.
Now to Green Field. (Thursday)
Nice place.
Pre-Allyoucaneat-BBQ. Balance everything out with some greeeeens.
Didn’t take any pictures of the BBQ, as they served everything to us quick-style, and none of us remembered to take any pictures LOL.
Needless to say, we all got pretty destroyed by the bbq. My homie Justin brought us some goodies afterwards for dessert, thanks to his wife that works down at Bonjour down in Gardena.
Yep, they call me Charles. aka MF Charles.
OMG GOODY OVERLOAD.
Anyway, after all that, we sat outside for about thirty minutes, just relaxing and trying to digest all the food we just ate. We ended up wanting to play games for some strange reason, but didn’t want to drive down to Gardena from West Covina, so we drove down next to Mt Sac to Super Arcade, and chilled around till midnight when they closed. Afterwards, we drove back to Ktown to Mr Coffee, and we kicked it till around 3. Good times.
Logan and Btune battling it out on Puzzle Fighter.
Mr Coffee.
On the way home, had to stop for some gas. Yes, that is the price of PREMIUM last Friday. Made me so happy LOL.
Now then, Friday was pretty uneventful. Just a nice relaxing day, putting on some of the parts that came in for the bike.
Fender eliminator and tag cover makes the bike look so much better already!
Installed the double bubble, flush mount turn signals, stainless anodized bar ends, and asv shorty levers.
Yep. That license plate does indeed fold down and disappear when you get up to speed.
Now Saturday. Ohhhh Saturday. You did me so dirty LOL. Woke up sick early to go with Allen and Justin to check out a few bikes that Allen was interested in. Nothing really interesting, so we drove around and ended up at Mel’s in Hollywood. Can’t ever say no to Mel’s.
the Highland location. Other one is better, but this one is still great.
I ordered Corned Beef Hash w/ three eggs, Justin ordered Meatloaf w/ Chili Cheese Fries, and Btune ordered a Chicken Salad Sandwich. Super good and satisfying, but your stomach will hate you afterwards.
Afterwards, went home to take a quick nap, as I had to get to Roy’s in Pasadena for my friend Dana’s birthday dinner by 8:30.
Forgot how expensive this joint is.
Yep. You read that right.
Appetizer Canoe. The lobster dumplings were my favorite.
Simple salad. Nothing really special.
Seared Blackened Ahi Tuna. MAD good.
Dessert Sampler. Macadamia Nut Tart with that mousse on top.. done deal!
Total came out to $83 per person, not including drinks.
Now Sunday was a pretty chill day as well. We went out to Chatsworth for Allen to check out another bike he was interested in, but it turns out it got sold. But luckily, they had a super clean Honda CBR600RR for sale for $5500, so he picked that one up. To celebrate, we were thinking about going to Lawry’s, but they couldn’t take any more reservations that day, and we didn’t feel like waiting till 4 to go, then waiting another hour or so to get seated, so we decided to go to Gui Rim for some allyoucaneat BBQ action. If you haven’t been there, I recommend the following:
- Brisket
- Marinated Beef Ribs
- Pork Belly
- Chicken
- Beef Tongue
- Pork Neck
- Squid (Only available at Gui Rim 2 on Vermont)
Not much picture action this time as well.
Pork Neck cooking over sick flames hahah.
And what’s a celebration without some drinks?
Bek Se Ju. Quite good. Also had a bottle of Raspberry Soju, and Pomegranate Soju.
So that was pretty much the end of my birthday week(end). Good food, good friends, good times.
Now for that diet to begin.
After Vegas like I said.
LOL.
- Charles.
Alright! Time for the “promised” update!
October 19, 2008
Soooo… new toys ehhh? Guess it’s finally time to post up, since it’s Sunday and there’s really nothing to do today, so I don’t really have an excuse not to hahah.
Alright, toy #1: 2009 Mercedes Benz C63 AMG.
After just getting detailed =)
Just realized I forgot to take pictures of the engine LOL. I’ll post that up maybe tomorrow.
Anyway, the car. is. AMAZING. Endless amounts of torque, handles incredibly well for such a heavy sedan, and yet super comfortable for just driving around on the daily. You just have to sit in one or drive one around to understand what I mean =)
Toy #2: 2007 Yamaha YZF-R6
Yea yea… we all saw this one coming didn’t we LOL. I couldn’t resist, and I ended up getting another one. This makes number THREE now. I didn’t take any pictures of the bike with my real camera, but I do have one that Francis took while we were at Formula D Irwindale last week.
Feels good to be back! =) The bike is great. I definitely understand why out of the four main manufacturers (Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, and Yamaha), Yamaha makes the best handling bikes. I’ve owned a CBR600, a GSXR600, and now an R6. Definitely my new favorite hahah. I’m getting back into the swing of things, and will be going to my first track day in November with it. Let’s pray that bike number 3 doesn’t actually kill me this time LOL.
That’s all you guys get for today. I’ll post up some more random toys throughout the week. I once again, end this post with another C&H comic.
Back with the Conga LOL.
Till next time!
Chaz.
Guess Logan was right.
October 9, 2008
LOL yea.. total blog negligence right here ahahah. Sorry for the lack of posting.. I swear I’ll post something good up soon this week. For now, shoot over to Rogansan’s Brog, where I actually send posts several times a day.
For now, I leave you with this humorous web comic strip from one of my favorite comics: Cyanide and Happiness.
This seriously left me in a fit of hysterics for a solid five minutes.
Till next time! (Sometime this week, I promise!

Goodbye July. Hello August.
July 31, 2008
Well guess it’s about the right time to recap on July. Not really too much to say other than this month… really has had it’s fair share of solid ups and downs lol. I’ve gone from being my normal, happy, and obnoxious self to being completely depressed, stressed, and ready to break down at a moment’s notice. I am quite happy that I’m back to my usual self though, thanks to the help of many close friends =) This month, I’ve learned how to make myself much stronger mentally, thanks to the help and advice of my two big bros, and it really is helping. Small stuff that used to really irk me, now no longer even make me twitch. It’s especially helped with work, helping me keep my focus on work, and nothing else until I’m done with my agenda, ensuring that I get everything done with zero to minimal mistakes. That especially helps right now, since things are getting crazy here at the office again, and I’m beginning to pull into 24/7 mode again lol. Actually, I think that’s a good thing. Based off what my bros and big sis say, I actually crack more jokes and am looser when I don’t get enough sleep, and become pretty cracked out, but to the point where I’m more awake than not LOL. Don’t know if that makes any sense, but whatever. Guess you’ll all just have to hang around me more to notice the difference hahah.
In my separate Car Life, I guess it’s still kind of dead since I sold the Stook. Let’s see…
FX35: I did end up putting the AME Gracers on the FX, but since they’re wrapped with 30 series tires right now.. my speedometer reads approx. 10 miles faster than it should, also allowing the car to rack miles on the odometer faster.. not cool LOL. Right now, I’m still waiting on the Air Runners to come in, then I’ll be dropping the car off at M1 for some minor paint works and body touch ups on certain areas. Hopefully that’ll happen within the next two weeks.
Cayenne S: The Cayenne S is starting to grow on me more, though the mileage is still HORRIBLE, no matter how much it grows on me lol. 250-300 miles on a 24 gallon tank is NOT fun, especially when it costs a little over 100 dollars each time to fill! The Tubi exhaust is actually sounding better and better now, and the ecu chip has made the car reduce it’s drive by wire lag a fair amount. We’ll see how it goes.
C63 AMG: OH GOD I STILL CAN’T WAIT FOR THIS CAR TO COME IN. Dealer has kept me updated, and says the car should deliver mid-august, around August 15th, but very latest it’ll come at the end of August. They did say there was one showroom model ready for me to take in the same color, but it doesn’t have the options I ordered, and there’s already 200+ miles on it. PASS. I do have some plans for the car, but not many. The main reason I even splurged on this car was so I wouldn’t be able to mod the car.. not without spending mad cheddar at least hahah. I do have my friend at Mackin who said that once the car delivers, call her and they’ll test fit some new wheels on it. I love getting free parts =)
Anyhoooo, I do believe that’s about it for now. Do keep checking the Kallusive Online Store though, as I know sizes have not been available, but we WILL be restocked by the end of the weekend, so whatever you haven’t snagged yet, better SNAG FAST because you know it won’t last long!
Another random “blast from the past” picture to end the post =)
Japan: Winter 2006. Chillin with some dope people at the hostel I was staying at. A lot of Asahi-pounding that night LOL. I can’t wait to go back.
Goodbye July. It’s been a pleasant ride.

Bring it on, new week.
July 28, 2008
Not too much to say this time, unlike the other two posts, so rest assured lol. I had a fabulous weekend, hanging out with friends, getting a decent amount of sleep, and getting some really awesome news that I’ll be sharing with you all very soon =) I’m feeling much more energized now that I’m BACK TO NORMAL!
I’m ready for the week. Bring it on.
I end this post with a really old picture I found digging through my old laptop hard drive. I love looking through old pictures.. makes me sad though now that I’m not the former bronze god I was a few years back LOL. WHAT HAPPENED DAMMIT?! =(
Three Years Ago. I loved that green shirt LOL.
Hope you all had a great weekend as well! Have a great week everyone!

Back from the dead.
July 26, 2008
Wow Charlie.. a whole NINE days without an update. Shame on you.
Once again, sorry for the lack of posting. In an attempt to explain myself, I’ll just say these past two weeks have been incredibly stressful and emotional. A lot has been on my mind, and I’ve been losing a large amount of sleep from it. I’ll try to go to sleep, only to find myself trying to process the thousands and thousands of thoughts flowing through my mind, effectively keeping my mind stressed and working overtime and therefore not allowing me to sleep in peace. I guess it’s just not the best thing being super over-analytical lol. It got to the point where it started affecting my work.. making mistakes where I normally would be aces. However, with the help of my close friends and loving Kallusive fam, I’m starting to regulate everything a bit better and am finally feeling more like myself, though not completely up to maximum efficiency yet. But enough about that.. no worries Chazzy Phizzle will be back up and running soon once again! You can’t ever stop this well-oiled machine.. only slow him down somewhat LOL. I do want to take the time right now and say Thank You to everyone who has helped me and tried to cheer me up.. you all mean the world to me =)
ANYWAY, just because I’ve had a few FAIL weeks, doesn’t mean that nothing interesting and post-worthy happened these past two weeks hahah! Mainly.. my roomies and I have FINALLY found a house for us to live in! After nearly two months of searching, we have finally succeeded in finding a property suitable for us, all while keeping rent within all our budgets! The house in in the K-town area, which is super nifty for me, since I frequently roll down to the area to eat, drink, or just kick back, relax, and wind down for the day. It WILL be a bit of longer drive to get to work and school every day, but I believe the house is totally worth it. Not to mention I’ll be living with the coolest roommates ever =) Stay tuned, for I will post up pictures of the new pad once we finalize our lease and begin moving in! Also, prepare for our HOUSEWARMING party of the century! Woooooooo =)
Alright, so now for some going-ons since I last posted. Saturday.. oh Saturday lol. That was the day we first looked at the house we’re moving in to. Who knew he would actually call us the next day and say that the house was ours?? Good stuff =) So yes, after looking at our wonderful new home, we were all feeling a bit hungry, and cold noodle/korean bbq sounded SUPER good, so of course we had to hit up The Corner. Even though their BBQ isn’t nearly comparable to GUI RIM, their cold noodle more than makes up for it lol. We all shared two bowls of cold noodle, and two large plates of Galbi/Kalbi. More than enough to split among one dude and four other chicks =) After lunch, we all wanted a little dessert, so we decided on some Shaved Ice. However, because of a little communication error (AHEM… JESS and JOAN LOL), we ended up at K-Town Galleria, when we needed to be at K-Town PLAZA. But we did eventually get our shaved ice, which was delicious =) We then proceeded to check out one last house, since we didn’t know whether or not we would get that one house, so we had to make sure we had a backup. Nice house, brand new, but not finished! Afterwards, dropped off Joan at her car, then Jess, Dow, and I rolled down to GLOW in Santa Monica. We walked around for a bit, ate and drank at Mariasol (great food and drinks by the way!), walked around some more admiring some of the art pieces, then rolled back to LA so I could drop them off at their car. After that, went back to the office real quick to grab a jacket and headed down to The Terrace in Pasadena, where we were throwing a little event =) Not much to say about that night.. other than a FAIR FAIR amount of alcohol, a ton of love for Kallusive, and Yardhouse sucks because they turn off their taps earlier than they say they do LOL.
The NEXT DAY, ohhhh baby… got that call early morning from Jess and Dow.. and we got the house! Woooooooo hahah. That was pretty much the highlight of my day =) Called my big bros, told them the news, decided to grab some lunch at Golden Deli to celebrate! Now if you’ve never heard of Golden Deli.. please just slap yourself in the forehead right now lol. I have yet to find ANYWHERE that has better Pho and fried egg rolls than Golden Deli. So yea, grabbed a great lunch, then rolled back to the house where we all just relaxed and watched TV, anxiously waiting for the ESPYS to come on! Sadly though, once the show started, everyone had to piece, so I called Allen up and we decided to grab some Korean BBQ for dinner. Didn’t want to roll to LA for Gui Rim, so we ended up going to that one joint in Arcadia next to CVS. Not the best stuff, but good enough to satisfy =P. Went back to the office afterwards to chill and finish up some work, then went back home around 2AM to try and KO. That’s pretty much it for the weekend hahah.
As for the week, nothing really too interesting went on. I did almost break down on Tuesday because of my current apartment’s stupid ass management, but after talking it out with them (read: threatening them back in person with two attorneys at my side LOL) and blowing off some steam at the range, I seriously felt like I was pretty much back to normal LOL. Other than that, I’ve just been working hard, getting our orders ready and making sure everything is good to go, and hanging out with some friends I haven’t had the chance to kick it with for a while. I am looking forward to the weekend though.. nothing really planned, but definitely nice to have a chance to relax hahah. All in all, I’m just glad that things are starting to pan out now, and I can’t wait until I move in to the new house! Hope you’re all as excited as I am =)
A few pictures:
Time Machine in the house.
Good crowd that night.
Some more people.
Yardhouse… Can’t believe you failed us. =(
I <3 this place.
Always a full house. Be prepared to wait.
Some people lucky enough to wait inside lol. Yea that girl’s totally not trying to look LOL.
Phooooooo.
Best fried egg rolls EVER.
Too good.
Anyway, once again I’m sorry for the lag, and I’m even MORE sorry that this post was so ridiculously long! I’ll make it up to all of you some how.. just wait =)
I love you all.
Chaz.
